Well poor wire routing can cause pockets of hot air to form. The most important thing is to get cool air in the case and hot air out. If you have wires everywhere, that is going to be difficult.
Here is an example of what my old rig looks like:

My new one is a bit more cluttered but still manageable. Will post pics once I have time to take some.
Are you sure you are not overclocking your card?

Yours looks a whole lot neater than mine's. I'm sure my card isn't overclocked. I bought another fan and will install it and see if it makes a difference.
