For Pizzicato
Pizzi or those not in the squad yet and fly on Sundays.
For the next few Sundays our sessions will involve Carrier take offs and landings, I know P.Ming you would have been simpler, but knowing this lot, odds are a few come in here looking to see whats what, thereby getting the message also.
If you need any practice for either take offs or landings let me know and I'll give you a hand, same applies for anyone else for that matter.

I think Hellcats. Nothing like a new aircraft to shock us back to carrier ops.

Generally speaking, setting throttle to MAX prior to removing your chocks should give you enough airspeed by the time you reach the end of the deck (depending on your T/O weight, so be careful!).
The real problem with moving carriers is to plot your return from target. Pay close attention to the briefing and determine where it will be at the end of the mission.
Many of us are guilty of relying on the Flight Leader (:FI: or AI) to lead us back to the task force, but if the leader is killed or you lose contact with the flight it's a good idea to remember your heading from the target area to the carrier. Add use of TS and you should have no real problems getting back home.
Moving Carriers always move into the wind, effectively providing you with a slight advantage to compensate for the handicap of the short deck.Daft question: Will the carrier be moving? If not I'll need more practice (take off speed) .... Laughing
