Moving Carriers always move into the wind, effectively providing you with a slight advantage to compensate for the handicap of the short deck.
Generally speaking, setting throttle to MAX prior to removing your chocks should give you enough airspeed by the time you reach the end of the deck (depending on your T/O weight, so be careful!).
The real problem with moving carriers is to plot your return from target. Pay close attention to the briefing and determine where it will be at the end of the mission.
Many of us are guilty of relying on the Flight Leader (:FI: or AI) to lead us back to the task force, but if the leader is killed or you lose contact with the flight it's a good idea to remember your heading from the target area to the carrier. Add use of TS and you should have no real problems getting back home.
