When Uninstalling a prog, see whether it has its own "Uninstall" feature. If so, it may be better to use the one from the game, as more often than not, it does a more thorough job uninstalling all files associated with the game including the Registry entries.
The Windows utility usually just deletes the folder on your drive, and sometimes the app data and icons. It usually leaves the Registry intact, requiring editing it.
Any time you do an Uninstall it's always a good idea to search through the Registry for leftovers from an Uninstall.
If you're comfortable with editing your registry, you will find a lot of CRAP entries that have absolutely nothing to do with your current OS installation, such as entries for equipment you don't have and never intend to buy/install. (Ie: a gazillion Saitek entries).
BE CAREFUL, though.
As if you didn't already know.
