I've been trying to reinstall FB AEP and PF, but when I put in the first disk for PF and the install screen comes up, the link to install PF over FB & AEB is darked and can not be selected... Can't remember why or what to do.
I downloaded the rft.dll file that I remember was a problem last time I did this long ago. didn't help with this problem.
Been searching for an answer, can't find one.
Waaaaaaaa, I want my mommy....or falc or somebody to tell me how the h$#$%LL to get PF installed in a merged fashion with FB AEP again.
Geezzz, why is this so dmd hard to do.

Could be that the registry believes you have PF installed already.
*** Don't mess with the registry if you aren't sure what you are doing. ***
Open Regedit and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ubi Soft and see if Pacific Fighters or PF+FB+AEP are mentioned. If so, delete them and try the CD again.
If there is no mention of PF, or you don't feel comfortable messing in the registry, then you could try running the setup directly off the CD by exploring it and running setuppffbaep.exe

Well that did it, thanks a ton
Well, you were exactly correct. I used regedit to delete the PF folder that was not deleted when I used the unistall utility in windows. After that, the PF install screen had the install over FB+AEP option available.
I have managed after several hours to get the 4.05m version reinstalled and I do not see the graphics problems that compelled me to uninstall/reinstall to begin with.
This is deffinately way to hard to do. If anyone is trying to do this anytime soon, send me a PM and I'll try to help you to not spend the rediculous hours I just spent.
back up to speed.

Another tip...
...
When Uninstalling a prog, see whether it has its own "Uninstall" feature. If so, it may be better to use the one from the game, as more often than not, it does a more thorough job uninstalling all files associated with the game including the Registry entries.
The Windows utility usually just deletes the folder on your drive, and sometimes the app data and icons. It usually leaves the Registry intact, requiring editing it.
Any time you do an Uninstall it's always a good idea to search through the Registry for leftovers from an Uninstall.
If you're comfortable with editing your registry, you will find a lot of CRAP entries that have absolutely nothing to do with your current OS installation, such as entries for equipment you don't have and never intend to buy/install. (Ie: a gazillion Saitek entries).
BE CAREFUL, though.
As if you didn't already know.

...and wear your feckin' mask!!!!!
Generally, 'uninstalls' only uninstall files that its 'install' installed. It doesn't uninstall files that were not installed at the install. Therefore, modificatiuons and additions are not uninstalled. Its a good idea after 'uninstalls; to manually remove remaining files (modify the registers).
