Coop 23rd Jan
Busy writing a couple of coops for Sunday - new venue. Channel map 1941 - Circus missions for Bader's Tangmere wing, or flying for the Abbeville Boys of Jg26.
I will give the option to fly red or blue.
Anyone for rhubarb?

Re: Coop 23rd Jan
Will it be Cannon's channel map, Nellip? I remember that on last Sunday some peeps (Airway and Heloego me thinks) had some troubles loading a COOP mission due to map loading failures ...:FI:Nellip wrote:Busy writing a couple of coops for Sunday - new venue. Re: Coop 23rd Jan
OK, if Helo and Airway have problems we fly something else?
If they are OK, or not present next Sunday, we fly these?
Found some interesting stuff online about these "Circus" missons. It seems there were four types:
Ramrod - where a designated target was attacked by bombers with fighter escort
Ranger - as above but fighters only
Roadstead - attacks on coastal shipping
Rhubarb - small raids by single flight of aircraft - mostly low level in bad weather against targets of opportunity
For Sunday there will be a Rhubarb and a Roadstead!

Re: Coop 23rd Jan
I can't fly This Sunday anyway due to work, but I'll get on to DL'g and/or re-installing Canon's map so I can get in on thisat a later date. I really do like the BoB missions, especially if historically accurate.
If a Ramrod mission is created, be sure to be reasonably accurate as to # of bombers. It really does give a much more realistic feel.
Enjoy!

Hi Dan - Canon's map is standard with HSFX so if you have a clean install of 4.09 and can reinstall HSFX that might be the easier option.:FI:Heloego wrote:I can't fly This Sunday anyway due to work, but I'll get on to DL'g and/or re-installing Canon's map so I can get in on thisat a later date. These are not BoB missions - timeframe is early 1941 - and Churchill wanted to take the war to the Germans and these Circus missions over occupied France were one of the ways this was done. The Ramrod missions were therefore British bombers attacking targets in France in daylight. Bombers used in 1941 were Blenheims, Bostons, Wellingtons, Stirlings, Hampdens etc, and we only have the first 2 available in HSFX. Some Halifaxs were entering service in spring 1941 and these were used for some Ramrod attacks in France so these might get an outing at some point

Don't know about that Dec - I know most people have UP but I don't want to add another Mod version for people to get confused with - it's bad enough as it is:FI:Wolfhound wrote:UP have wellingtons and Halifax's i think neil

Re: Coop 23rd Jan
That was a rhetorical question
But what's the problem to use those missions in 4.10m or is it just the mod map and the mod planes?
I'm more eager for 4.10m and it's MDS to be honest.
I tested the new patch more intensly and like it very much. The new Hs-129 is just great for parts of the FI.
But hey, just mentioning.
Just show me the way to the channel map again please and I'll do a reinstall of HSFX and UP to fix it all for you.

Re: Coop 23rd Jan
Well the limitation for me with 4.10 is the maps for mission making. Once we get HSFX or UP for 4.10 I will be happy.
Mind you we might be on Cliffs of Dover by then....................2 weeks, be sure

The Channel map comes with HSFX so you should find it if you open up the FMB and check?
