Echos on TS

Post by :FI:Genosse » Tue Dec 30, 2008 2:10 pm

Folks!

Santa has left a new Plantronics headset for me and after I plugged it in it caused a lot of echos on TS. So I started to fiddle around with the sound settings on the related OS´s configuration panel.

Since the headset´s microphone is listed under "Realtek output device" (... it should be an input device, right?) I disabled the volumes for the CD, the Line-in, Front-Mic and Steromix entries by muting them (checkbox on the bottom). To be honest I´m not really sure if I really need one of those entries but at least the echoing stopped right away ...

Maybe this work for you too, chaps!? ;)

Good luck and hear ye soon ...

S! ^:)

Glad it works for you now, anyway.

Yeah theres a "volume" (playback) and "recording" section in Realtek or Windows mixer Control panels. Mic should only be checked in Record section.
If you don't mute the live mic output you get feedback and echoes .
