I attended Craig's funeral on Wednesday, in Chickasha, OK. Some of you may have heard about the plane crash. I understand it made national news here in the States, or at least was widely reported.

I've known his wife (now widow) Deserae since they moved to this area. She's a wonderful girl, always cheerful & a joy to be around. Only met Craig once. We talked about going flying together when he was Instructing at Monarch Air in McKinney. Unfortunately we never worked that out before he left Monarch for the job with Barr, further away east of Dallas.
The funeral was amazing. About 1500 people there including over 75 uniformed Oklahoma Highway Patrolmen. Despite the sad occasion, it was very uplifting and inspiring to hear about this guy's life, and to see how many were affected by him & his family. Even at 26, he was truly a success in life, and he died doing what he loved. His wife's and family's strong faith is sustaining them well through this tough time.
Another reminder we can all probably use: be thankful for every day, and keep the "big picture" when tempted to whine about piddly stuff. If you're above ground & reasonably healthy, you're having a great day.
