Sound Problems with 1946

Post by :FI:Gadje » Wed Jan 10, 2007 11:44 am

Generally the sound is quite different, better in most respects, I can hear aircraft approach much easier and the engine/weapon sounds are much beefier.

Is anyone one else experience volume changes and fadeout inside the cockpit with 4.07 and 4.071?
Worst of all is that on TS I get bad echo on my own voice although this is just heard by me :? .

Ive reinstalled the game from scratch and use the switcher. 4.05 is fine.

Updated my sound card driver too. In game comms are off but turning off Hardware extensions in Sounds setup removes the echo but the sound is totally mince.

Turning off hearing my own mike through my cans obviously works too but the wife says I end up shouting

Any ideas Guys?

Gadje

You may want to look at the sound settings within conf.ini

I know some things seem to have been reset in conf.ini when I installed 4.07 - I haven't noticed any sound changes as you describe but my set up may be different anyway.

Have you tried adjusting mic volume in playback and record sections of Windows mixer.

Less in Windows more in TS. ??

I get a TS echo in Test Settings but thats all

You could compare these conf.ini settings

Thx Sneaky.

Apart from volume levels the same, excluding SoundMode which I have on 3 you on 2.

Suspect this in balanced v Full(slowest) in setup.

Posts in the Zoo about same thing. What puzzles is why some and not others :?
