Battlestar Galactica

Any fellow science fiction fans in the Squad? Anyone else really enjoying the new Battlestar Galactica series? Been watching it on Canada's Bell satellite (SPACE network) here going on the third season now.

Sadly I missed the season opener over the weekend (Noter made me play BF2 Saturday night #-o). Luckily last night I was able to download the two-hour premier via the Internet (probably broke some laws there though :? ). We also pick up the DVDs when they are released, since they are HD and SPACE isn't broadcasting them yet in HD (though they are filmed that way  ).

Anyway really looking forward to this season. Finally a full season too. Last two years there was only enough money to start the new episodes after Christmas. Most of the cast are Canadians. Such a gritty and interesting show. And they all hate their president. Do you think that caters too much to the American viewers?

Great show. So say we all?

There's something ... something

I can't put a finger on it, but ...

there's just something special about this show.

I haven't missed an episode.

What I don't understand is, the Cylons could have destroyed humanity just by issuing one of those to every male. No fuss, no muss, then they get to have thier kooky breeding program. Wouldn't make for exciting TV though.

By all accounts this is a very successful series. Saw the pilot on Sci-Fi Channel some time ago, but missed out the rest. Was taken up by Lost Series.

One has to say that is some quality flooring in that picture there. I wish I could have some of that in my home.

I think BSG is on DVD (past shows). May be a good idea to go look for it.

Yes Season 2 & 3 are available in Canada on DVD. And thanks for getting this thread back on track Nighcat. Falcon and Gurb, despite what appeared to be an honest critique of hardwood flooring ;), had it going in a slightly different direction.

As for the beautiful Grace Park here's a brief bio of this intelligent girl if you dogs can read. :D

Image
Here's a picture she gave me on our first date (don't tell the misses). :-$

"In just a few short years, Grace Park has managed to rack up an impressive list of credits, including the feature Romeo Must Die, the telefilm L.A. Law: The Movie and the popular CBC teen series Edgemont, in which she played Shannon Ng in the ensemble cast.

She has appeared on such series as Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction, The Outer Limits, Dark Angel, The Immortal (in which she played the recurring role of Mikiko) and Stargate SG-1. She holds a degree in psychology and speaks English and Korean, along with some French and Cantonese; she is currently studying Spanish."

liked the original ... love the new series!!
took a while to get used to some aspects..gender changing of some of the pilots (starbuck, boomer), use of contemporary weapons, vehicles (nearly fell off the seat the first time i saw a HUMVEE :) ).

All in all a great show.

will be interesting to see if they find earth and if they do whether it willl be set in the present day ala galactica 1980.
