Antivirus software
Following a recent autoupdate my Norton antivirus 2004 developed a Hitler complex and wouldn't allow any of its features to be disabled without bringing up repeated security alerts that interupted any program running.
I always kept AV and internet security on when surfing but when on HL switched off as I get smoother gameplay.
I did try to resolve the change but Symantec is very keen to take your cash for annual subscriptions but surprise-surprise doesn't give a monkeys if you have a problem. I discovered just how difficult uninstalling Norton is last night but it is off my system.
Any recomendations as to alternative AV package Guys?.

Zone Alarm and AVG free edition + AdAwareSE do it for me.
When I use HL I do it from a boot where browsers and messenger cant connect to internet and have Windows firewall running.

I started using AVAST ever since I switched to XP64 last year. It is free, works great, and uses barely any resources. Since then, all 3 of my other PC's have received AVAST on them as well.
