Desktop Problem
I just installed the Forgotten Battles Ace Expansion Pack and it works great. However when I quit the game, my desktop is all messed up and I have to restart the computer in order to get my desktop back. It has done this many times. I just recently restarted it and it went to a screen saying it was deleting some files on my disk. I was wondering if somebody coulds help me on my issue.

What happens if -
You hit the Windows key ( between " Ctrl " and " Alt " ) , while still in-game? Can you get to desktop that way. If so right click Il2 on taskbar and close from there, you may see am error window you'd miss closing from main game screen.
Windows deleting files? Its not "Desktop icon cleanup" utility is it?

This is when I turn the computer back on. Before I can even get to the desktop it sais "checking cd" (step 1 of 3). It sais it found corrupted files on the disk and is deleting them.

Check your system event log..
Right click MY COMPUTER
Click MANAGE
select EVENT VIEWER
look at SYSTEM..
you can filter the results.. by checking VIEW in the tool bar
deselect the success audits select only the WARNING, ERROR and FAILURE.
Do the same for APPLICATIONS as well
You may be in the process of losing your hard drive.
I had one fail the other day, in a very similar fashion to what you just described.
