From the looks of the thread "confusion reigns" as usual :?

Indeed Grecian.

What amazes me is EVERYONE seems so caught up in this addon, as if from day 1 their lives have been incomplete without the Russian Pe bomber. Of course I will be picking up any and all official addons (not like any real third-party addons can be released), but I can't see this changing my life. Nonetheless the "testimonials" over in UBI-Zoo are cute to read.

Am I correct in thinking that this add-on will be REQUIRED if one wants to add an subsequent add-ons? In other words, it's not really optional if you want to be able to continue to upgrade the game, and play online with others.
Nevertheless, UBI has declined to release the add-on in the US, except where offered by special distributors. Nothing like being the "Red Haired Step Child".

From what I understand you are correct :( Even if you don't want the damn addon you still have to fork out the cash to pay for yet more planes you never fly just to play online! ;)

I suppose we should be grateful though....they could have just abadoned it years ago!

I'd like to see an IL-2 addon where you can play with the tanks and ships, and subs and stuff too! A map creation programme too.

Imagine Silent Hunter 3 working with/in IL-2.

Use to love playing Silent Hunter 2 & Destroyer Command, 2 different games that worked together - was a fantastic idea that they should have built on. (All ubi stuff) all they had to do was make sure it ran with IL-2 and it would have been the best game ever!

NC

One really simple thing Ubi could do in the next add-on is label the damn 600+ objects! really damn simple idea that I fear will never happen lol

World War II On-Line - Battlefield Europe (or something like that) is exactly what you are talking about. You have to pay a monthly fee (I think $9). I've been trying to read up on it, but haven't found much. It is an entire war. You can fly-fighter, bomber, attack, I think even recon, be a ground soldier, grab the helm of a ship, and more beyond that. Something to look at.
