Ok so call me dumb. As some of you have figured out by now WWII history is not my expertise, when I heard about the Irish Air force I just thought it was just one of those tavern dreams, but I ran across this in one of my web journeys
i think this taken at the end around 1945, i can't see any of you guys in this so it must be real :?

What you didn't know Les? We are the only Squad playing IL-2 that actually flew these birds in WW2. Most folks here are pushing into their 80s and beyond. There are a few youngsters of course to keep the tradition alive like SnoopBaron.

Well, must take my meds now, cya in the skies soon mate!

P.S. Where did you fight during the war Les?

It's too true Les. Go on Tacts, tell him about that wild night in Bengazi..... Remember? I seem to remember somthing too about alot of injections later, still, at the time eh? eh? what.

it used to be a good site but it's getting too many pop-ups and such

On one of my trips to Ireland, in 1986, we flew into Shannon but were forced to land at Dublin by fog ( big shock). The airline gave us a big greasy breakfast (yum) and a bus ride back to the west. While riding the bus out of the airport in dear old dirty Dub, I noticed a derelict JU 52, painted in wartime camo colours, parked outside one of the terminals! I swear I was'nt hallucinating.
Do any of our Dub friends know anything about this or remember it? :?:
