Germany´s man in charge at this point of time Großadmiral Karl Dönitz ordered the high-ranking Officers Jodl (in Allied HQ in Reims), Keitel, Friedeberg and Stumpff (in Soviet HQ in Berlin-Karlshorst) to sign the capitulation documents. All hostile activities ended and the way was free to rebuild the maltreated and destroyed continent ...

^:| How many died in ww2 really? Was it 60 millions? I know that 20 millions russians got killed..

And we got to remember that in the "after war time" many have gotten killed in wars too, for example the war in rowanda, where somewhere around 100 millions got killed in a matter of months.. Im not trying to make ww2 look less grave than it was but, Salute to those too ^:|

Nearly a million refugees fled to the former Zaire.

That million returned to Rwanda in '96.
