Just gave this a try, and its not as bad as I expected. Track IR and full HOTAS are supported. Good graphics and performance. FM's are a bit toned down . On the downside it's same business model as WoT ; so you have to fly a lot of crap (or spend insane amounts of cash) before getting a decent plane. Land armies and Navy are nort yet implemented, but their addition could make it interesting.

Re: War Thunder Beta
I've tried it.
Just like flying every mission as our P11 Xmas special!!! Crap plane fest in a whirling, tail chasing, furball. OK as a casual distraction, and the graphics are good and it runs nice and smooth, but it's a game, not a simulation.
It may be better if you buy the additional content to get better planes and historical scenarios, but I wouldn't risk buying it on the basis of the free bit I can see at the moment. Shame that.
