The year was 1969, man was on the moon, Nixon was in the White House, I was learning about my naughty bits and Monty Python still had no idea if they were funny or not after four shows.

I can still remember the ads/trailers for it before it started on BBC2....and even at that age thought WTF is that?
I'm not sure they knew themselves as Stu suggested.
