Two-seater Spitfire - who owns it?

Post by :FI:Macca » Mon Mar 09, 2009 6:39 pm

Folks, some of you may remember the green Irish Spitfire that was being renovated when we had our meeting in Duxford for the Airshow 2005. Some time later I learned from one of our at-the-time members (was it in 2007...?) that the bird is airworthy and is owned by some company/corporation/I-have-no-clue-what and it is kinda possible to have a ride in the airplane if you donate some (much enough) money for some charity or so. However, I can't remember who was the FI member that told me so...one of you younger members for sure.

Does anyone have a clue whom this Spitfire belongs to? A collegue asked me if I could try and find it out as there is an idea of making one of the very few surviving Polish WW2 Spitfire pilots to have a ride in this bird, if such possibility exists.

I would be greateful for any hints.

Mac

I know when I went to the Spitfire aniversary airshow a couple of years ago she was taking people up in her so I can't see why she wouldn't for an old pilot ;) .

It does cost though but if I could ever afford it I would give away my missus to get a ride in it. Hell I would give away the missus for anything
