Dogfight training
Dogfight training
I'd like to set up an occasional session with the intent of going through the do's and don'ts of dogfighting, hopefully with Mikesters help.
Last night Homicide joined us and said it was useful, so I thought I would open it out to all FI who are interested. Last night we spent mainly looking at how to merge but could probably do with doing it again.
Frankly I'm open to ideas about what to cover, if there is some thing or situation that you find difficult and want to look at. Things that come to mind for me are:-
Merging.
Advanced Combat manuevers (that actually help ).
Getting a bandit off your 6.
Defending against BnZ.
How to BnZ.
Fighting multiple opponents (when you have to!).
How to fight as a pair.
That sort of thing. I don't want it to be too heavy or ego denting just informative. It would be fine if you just want to watch and listen (I'll try not to get drunk and talk too much ).
An awful lot can be learned just by being talked through a fight by someone who knows what they are doing, as it often about choices made as much as flying skill that determine what happens and who wins.
I was thinking Thursday evening time. If it goes ahead next week I'll put it up on the diary.
Please feel free to give your thoughts and suggestions.

I'm weak in this area, so I'll give it a go. Just need to sort out a time.

Re: Dogfight training
I'd love to learn more.
Still can't get teamspeak to perform though.
I've been getting my ass handed to me in Warclouds lately. At least I'm helping somebody's stats look better. LOL
Time is still an issue for me.

Re: Dogfight training
That sounds Good Gadje. I'm a bit rusty at the moment but hope to get back up to full speed once Christmas is over. I could set up a dedicated server and have it fired-up on a Thursday. I just need to buy more Ram and work on HL working with the Linux OS.
Ideally I'd like to have a dedicated server on all the time but not sure how my connection would cope! Again after Christmas I'd like to have a look into this. I'm not a map maker so I'd need help from the FI. Anyway this is maybe another topic.
Merry Christmas and see you all soon
Mike

Re: Dogfight training/Side Note
Mikester,
I've been considering changing over to LInux once I've had enough of MS. Thinking of SuSe or Ubuntu distros for my gaming rig, and Gentoo for my DAW.
WineAppDb has good things to say re IL-2 using Ubuntu, so it looks much more promising than a couple years ago when I last checked.
Would you object to keeping us updated on any progress?
I'm certain more than a few of us are interested.
THanks,
Helo
