Unified Installer and stuff
Hi Guys
I'm going to have to re-install my main machine as I am having a few niggly problems. I just want to know how easy is it to install the unified Installer from AAA site and if there are any issues with regard to the COOPs we have been doing.
Also does it have Cannon UK's BOB map or do I have to istall it seperately.
Cheers

Re: Unified Installer and stuff
Hey there !
Unified installer is easy to install.
Tested it once on my Vista64 machine and ran into troubles.
Got heavy stutters after I applied the unified installer to a fresh 4.08m copy.
Give it a try. Others had no problems with the unified installer.
Canon UK map is not included but you can find it here under #8 in Franks Mod mirror:

Runs smooth as on my machine (Vista 32)

Re: Unified Installer and stuff
OK
I have done the re-install and have installed the unified installer and have to admit the new textures and cockpits are superb .
All I have to do now is turn off the 6DOF setting on my track IR as it is really anoying to me. Straight up,down, left and right is all I prefer not all the silly head tilt stuff LOL.
Alsoo I installed the cannonuk map but do I have to do all the other bollocks we had to do last time with the config files and if so what was it all again hehehehe:lol:

Re: Unified Installer and stuff
You can turn the 6DOF stuff off in the version switcher that comes as part of the Unified Installer package. You will find the folder in the root of your IL2 directory.
Only problem I've had is that even when disabled the tilt function still works. Not a problem unless Im really drunk but might be an issue for some.

Yep I found it and have disables the roll setup in the Track IR software too so I'm hopefully back up and running again.
Just hope I have cannons map in properly. The only additional file I could see I needed to put in was the map line in the all.ini file.
Looked for the add to file that we had to add the text from but couldn't see it anywhere so hopefully that was fixed.

No you simplay have to put the canonuk bob map into the mod folder and thats it.
The wrapper makes the map findable by the game itself.
Works fine

Sounds easier than the previous method. When I build my new PC I'll use this.

Re: Unified Installer and stuff
It was neil
The installer was really easy and sorted everything in it's right place no problem. As for cannons map I installed it, Moved the can_channel folder to the mods/mapmods/maps folder and added the map line from the text_all.ini file to the all.ini file in the same location.
Everything seems to be running but the test will be when we fly that map again

Wardog, Try and load your game and open the editor and load the cannon map, actually if it is in the list of maps it should be ready to go!

Hey Sack
Yep it's there but have come accross one snag. I have placed all the marvelous skins that Stu and Frank have sent me into their respective folders and checked them in the Quick mission builder and so far the only ones not able to be seen are the spit mk1 skins.
Moved hem in and out of the folder a dozen or so time but with no luck. I can see them in the folder and open them up into photoshop and such but they don't show in the QMB
just hope they will show on flight night lol

W,
Try renaming the SpitfireMk1 folder to SpitfireMkI, (upper case "i"). There's some issue with that.
