I'm unable to get my COD4 to start up in multiplayer if I have patched it to 1.4 or even now to 1.5 due to a "code_post_gfx..... whatever file mismatch with the server.

Have searched the internet a lot and not found a solution. Did not buy this from steam as some did, got it from a local store.

Any ideas on how to fix this frigin problem?

Actually, I found on a forum that the files are not the right ones for most servers and have to be replaced. There is a link for those server friendly files that you have to replace yours with. Then it works just fine.

Here is the forum where a link to win-server-1.4 is located. That link downloads a zip file with files in it that you need to copy to the appropriate COD4 folders to fix this frigin problem,,but it works...

These files work for v 1.4 or 1.5

I'm OK now
