Anybody else running a D-Link router?

Post by :FI:WillieOFS » Sat Feb 09, 2008 8:18 pm

I'm going crazy tryin to get the damn thing to see H/L..

Port forwarding UDP to port 2100 per H/L's instrucciones
Solution for users behind NAT router/firewall:
The game using always UDP port 21000 (hyperlobby force this port). You must setup your router/firewall to enable this port in both direction. Some NAT routers have options DMZ host to expose one ip from internal network directly to the internet. Use this option when you want host game server. Edit the hlpro.ini file and in section [IL-2 Sturmovik (full version)] change value DetectLocalIP=1 to DetectLocalIP=0.
Can't locate the hlpro.ini file... yet that is..

Anyway IF by chance someone has one of these routers, could you post a screenshot of what the port forwarding is supposed to look like..

Thanks ever so much,
W

To be honest, I don't think you need port forwarding set up. You only need port forwardingi f you are hosting and accepting external connections.

(port 21000 by the way)

Does HL work in so far as it can see the game servers, if it does, then the above is irrelevant, HL has done its job.

Running V4.08M game, newest H/L available. It sees all the games, players, chat etc..

When I try to join a server, the connections time out. Have tried several different servers but they all time out.

H/L is working except that I can't into a game from there.

Only reason I tried the port forwarding thingy was from the FAQ's on H/L's home page with regard to "time outs' when trying to connect.

Edit: changed the hlpro.ini file to 0. Restarted H/L and still get timeouts..

This may sound crazy , but are you using :FI: or =FI=

Some server scripts will block user names with colons. (a**holes?)

I assume windows and any other software firewalls have all been given the necessary permissions for "il2FB.exe", "hlpro.exe" and don't forget "aping.exe"

Windows firewall is OFF and I'm tryin to punch the router firewall with that port forwarding mess I think. No other firewalls in operation other than the router itself.

I tried it with :FI: and =FI= in several empty, non passworded servers.. No joy.

Sheesh, I never had thees problemos before.. FFS!!

Mine is hardwired... Been all over D-link's site.. :?

I've set every setting I can find, from Virtual server to port forwarding to trigger ports for UDP on port 21000. Tried to join our server a while ago and no joy still

Have you defined 21000 for TCP traffic?

have you tried it with the pc direct, i.e. without the router in the way? At least isolate whether it is a pc or router problem>
