Grumman Ironworks in the early days. :D

And another interesting link mentioning that "crazy" Germerman, Herb Tischler, and his efforts at making the F3F a bit more plentiful on the face of the planet.

Poor Herb was also instrumental in making new flyable copies of the ME-262. However, his unwillingness to compromise led to a rift in the partnership and the money people took the unfinished planes elsewhere to be finished.

A few folks that I know who know Herb say he is an unrelenting taskmaster, but he is also a gifted designer.

I've lost touch with a lot of the people I used to know in that circle, so I have no idea what Herb is up to these days.
