Arrrrghhhhh!!!!!
Will this crap ever end?! I tried to take out the heatsink and the bloody heatsink frame got damaged. Now when I attempt to boot up all I get is a musical chirp from my system and it shuts down. Thinking of buying a new heatsink or shall I just chuck the thing out the window?

heres a list of BIOS beep codes.
I hate those clips too, always feels like you're going to crack the MB or some other evil like slipping with the screwdriver and taking out a row of caps and the north bridge.

Hmmm. The beeps I got were of a musical tone. Like those on musical greeting cards. Strange, first time I heard these on my PC. Not like the short beeps. I had applied a thin layer of thermal compound on the heatsink and was wondering if that was the cause. One side of the frame of the heatsink is broken so maybe that could be it. I've decided to get a new heatsink and replace the old one since the old PC may still have some life left.

Can't get into BIOS with a frozen screen. I'll take out the battery and set it back in again when I get home. If the battery is gone I'll buy a new one. There were no beep when booting. At least that heatsink fan is quiet, it should be the bloody thing costs TT$260.00!

Well, I spoke to my IT pal and he suspects the Mobo may have gotten fried.
If that's the case I'm doomed. I even took out the processor and seated it back in- nothing. Looks like a new rig is imminent, but the wiff just won't let me get one. I really don't want a laptop since future upgrading will be expensive. I configured a DELL desktop and it'll set me back at least TT$16,000.00 (over US$2,500). These things are expensive down here. Anyone wanna buy a liver?
