BoB Questions
This really should be for Comrade Oleg to answer but since I departed the Ubizoo I'll post it here for your thoughts on it. Maybe someone here has the answers. Historically, the Bf-109 didn't have the fuel capacity to linger very long over Britain, so how is this going to reflect on the gameplay? Are the airfields going to be like in the Il2 series, or will they be grassy like some were during the real thing. Will there be the Do-17 bomber in the game?

Answer
Yes,
Why?
You're expecting a lot.
The 109 will be able to fly for 14 hours at supersonic speeds with the turn ratio of a hummingbird. (as viewed by Spitwhiners)
The Spit will be able to reach the stratosphere in 2 seconds from a standing start. It's .303's will hit like Mk 108's and it will be able to bend the space time continuum. (as viewed by Luftwhiners)
Airfields yes.
Do-17? FFS!
I'd worry about having a computer that will play the game first. I don't and I doubt I will for quite some time to come.

Yes but will it handle Il2'46 yet?:FI:WillieOFS wrote:I'd worry about having a computer that will play the game first. I don't and I doubt I will for quite some time to come.

I think the 109 should be modelled the right way, with accurate capacity of flying not too long over the British territory. It was modelled in Rowan's Battle of Bratain and in Shockwave's Battle of Britain 2:Wings of Victory it is also modelled. It affects the gameplay in such a way that the German fighters are not capable of engagin in long dogfights deep into Brit's airspace, nor are they capable of accompanying bombers there and back. Dogfights used more fuel compared to just flying with the bombers so quite often it happened that planes got back on their own, depending on how much fuel they had in their tanks. I'm curious if the attempts to use external fuel tanks will be modelled, as far as I know there were a few attempts to use such solution but were not very fortunate and quite soon Germans dropped this idea, at least during BoB. If you wanna play a good BoB game get the latest Shockwave product, patched to 2.061 it is just great and the campaign is just cool. the game is being developed all the time and there will be now something like Single Player Campaign intrduced (currently you can do either single missions or be a commander of RAF or Luftwaffe and jump to any plane whenever youwant) allowing the player to fly just for one Squadron for example. As for the airfields I hope they do it also like in the Shockwave's BoB2,, grassy, some airstrips made of concrete, too, not every one looking the same, different, hangars, made of brick, wooden houses, towers, stuff, all nice and so on.

So far I can play offline with this rig. My monitor has some issues that preclude my playing w/o icons (the color black no longer exists in a pure state on this thing.).:FI:Sneaky_Russian wrote:Yes but will it handle Il2'46 yet?:FI:WillieOFS wrote:I'd worry about having a computer that will play the game first. My madskillz as far as gunnery goes these days, SuxXors the large one. My beloved 109's don't seem to turn like they used to in previous versions.
The AI have magical Hurri's and I-16's too.

Playtime is still a problem, I don't have a lot of time these days due to RL stuff issues.

Been flying the Mk l Hurri a bit latelyEVERY time I try to shove the nose down in one of those p[lanes, the fire goes out.
Getting the magnetos mapped to a key enables you to re-start the motor by toggling through. Remembering to close the throttle when you push forward on the stick works OK. Biggest pain is overheating (seems to happen in this sim, if youre not careful with your power settings, as soon as you see the enemy - dont know if thats Sods Law or Olegs

So its just like IL-2 then? The 109 will be able to fly for 14 hours at supersonic speeds with the turn ratio of a hummingbird. (as viewed by Spitwhiners)
