The potential of il2...

Post by Skipper » Thu Jul 19, 2007 5:33 pm

Just flying some small WWI missions I made in FMB. Amazing that il2 can transport you as far back as the 1914-18 airwar with a few good skins on the right planes! :)

Used 4 Vs 4 J8A's at Ace setting with skins I downloaded from a website that hosts the WWI server on HL (sadly it always seems empty :( )

Any thought i'd show some screenshots:

The merge:

The Hun:

Closing on my tail:

Bullets shatter the struts on my plane as the Hun tries to make sure of me...:

But he can't stop me closing on his wingman:

Now it's my turn to do the chasing!:

Closing in...:

Meanwhile, others fall victim to the British SE-5's:

Guns blazing, I pump round after round into the enemy machine to little effect:

Then I struck lucky, a pilot kill causing the plane to begin to spiral out of control:

Anyway, what I was thinking was that if others were interested, perhaps we could perhaps do a few WWI style missions(maybe when we're finished Goths) or another time in the week or after goths. Just an idea. Either way i'd advise you to download the skins from:

http://www.ravenskins.com/RaVenskinsWW1.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Maybe some of the skinners will be inspired to make some FI style
ones ;)

Nice shots there Sneaks, m8. I recognize some of the photos from 'Fly Boys'. In fact I'm modeling a Nieuport 17 in 3D. I already did a Fokker D.VII and Albatros D.Va. Is that German bomber a Gotha? in the pics? BTW what ever happened to Baron von Snoopy? :lol:
