I got a few great DVDs and highly recommend them as part of a collection.
1. Der Untergang- A well made German film about the last days of the Third Reich. The actor who played Adolph Hitler is quite convincing. The story is told through the eyes of one of Hitler's secretaries. Dialog is in German language with English subtitles.
2. The Last King of Scotland- Excellent film about Uganda's dictator Idi Amin as told by his Scottish doctor and ally.
3. Empire of The Sun- A young boy gets lost amidst the Japanese occupation of China. Another excellent movie.

"Der Untergang" was released in the US with the title "Downfall". The actor who stars in this one is a favourite of director Wim Wenders; he was also featured in "Wings of Desire" and "Far Away, So Close"
"Empire of the Sun" (directed by Steven Speilberg) is based on a book by AJ Ballard. The book is semi-autobiographical. The film follows the book pretty closely.

That's right and the actor in Der Untergang who played Fagelein also was the captain of the ship in King Kong. But that guy who played Hitler should get an Oscar though. In Empire of The Sun had some nice P-51 action over a Japanese airfield.
I liked the part where the boy kept saying, "I surrender, I'm British" whenever he sees a Japanese soldier.
