Xmas 2006 DF session

Post by :FI:Genosse » Sun Dec 24, 2006 1:28 pm

Folks!

As every year I´ll host our famous P-11 Xmas Mission on December 25th, 2006 at European evening time (1930 GMT). I´d like to invite everybody who´s interested into it!

BTW, today I´ve uploaded the The Fall Of Burma 1942 COOP missions bundle. Feel free to play or modify it as you like! :)

Happy Christmas, folks! :x-mas:

Between serious probs with desktop, and working all day the 25th,
I won't be able to make it.

I'll be out of service until at least the middle of January.

Wish I could be there! :)

TK,

Where? In HyperLobby. Do you have that?

When/where? Well, 'tis the season of pretending your family is more important than IL-2 so flyin' has been a wee bit sparce but Wednesdays we are usually in Spain, Fridays in Russia, France or the Pacific and Sundays in the Pacific.

Hope to see you there,

Falcon

thanks. i'll see you soon.

how are we organized here?

do we have a strictly ground attack/ level bombing group? thats always been my thing. i'm a whiz with a nordon and manually bombing- i was the XO of the allied bomber group at my last posting.

Great to hear that TK!

Genosse, Heloego and the other bomber boys can always use another pinky on the pickle. I am most familiar with the "Pearl to Japan" campaign on Sundays. There, we usually are organized into fighter cover/CAP, fighter escort and bomber groups. Currently the fighters are Hellcats and the bombers are either SBD's or Hellcats.

are they the SBD-3's or 5's?

the three is a better dive bomber, has a real live sight. but i think the 5 is faster.

anyone have any feelings on manually dropping level bombs?

More meat for the table! ;)

Several of us are into Close Support and Level Bombing, though not necessarily both. I'm a big fan of Close Support, but find using a bombsight too confining.

Though I haven't been able to fly much lately due to work, I'll soon be able to spend a bit more time getting in close and dirty in my fave Il-2!!!! :D

Keep an eye in HL on Sundays for the group session.
Get all the TS details and check in Fridays around 7:00pm Mountain for Historical Encounters.
McBiggles has been running a Spanish fly (pun intended) on Wednesday evenings about the same time.
