I had no problems with Steam. Even when uninstalling and re-installing.. I used a registry cleaner program just in case to remove unwanted files left behind in the registry.

I'm surrounded by grumpy old men!

yeah i tried that Tac, you have to have STEAM installed. the game actually connects to their servers before the game launches. i understand this was a way to validate everyones copy of the game but for every damn episode? i think it is a bit much. thanks to the geek who stole the original code to Half-Life 2, this is why steam has to be used.
