Hello everyone. My name is Buddy and I live in NY. I am 29 yrs old looking to join the FI..... I need some basic help actually getting online in the game...hyperlobby? ubi? .... help.

I'm only the pretty face ~cough~ that greets you at the door. The guys with the brains will be along tonight or tomorrow to help you out with HyperLobby, TeamSpeak and getting set up.

UBI is just a company name. Don't worry about it.

Feel free to go into the other forums and find info on all aspects of IL2 and the Fightin' Irish. Don't let the stuff about us frighten you, we're mostly harmless ... mostly.

If you decide to stay a while, there's an application form you can get to by clicking the SQUADRON button on the front page.

We tend to use Hyperlobby so check in there and you will often find one or more of us with the :FI: prefix. Join the server we are in and introduce yourself. If you can fly Sunday (evening Europe, afternoon US) then we tend to congregate then for squad coops. One of our North American members runs a session called Historic Encounters on Friday evenings US time - if that is of interest go along to the forum they have and introduce yourself there too.

Ok, I got hyperlobby and teamspeak.... my game updates only goes up to 404, im seeing for the first time pe2 and 1946.....do i need those games too . I was a damn good pilot in warbirds II and this is frustrating not being able to fly online again.....

Currently we are patched up to 4.05 and soon gonna be 4.07.

If you wish to easily patch your Il-2 FB /AEP/PF to most current version get the Il-2 Sturmovik 46 - one disc to rule them all - it contains all the FB/AEP/PF stuff with Pe-2 addon, Sturmoviks over Munchuria and the 46 too.

You can also download the 3 addons from the internet via UBI website (I thinnk) ,but it is more economical to get the one dvd and have it all on one disc, all new and shiny, smelling with newness

However ,Im not sure if the 2 last addons are already avalible for download.

Ok, so i now i figured out how to play online threw hyperlobby...now off to buy the 46 game.....

Another rookie question...in warbirds you could be a gunner for someone..can you do this in fb/pf also?

You can do many things in the sim - it's fantastic.

The guys here are great too. I'm quite new to the squadron and they let me play target-drone and even let me stay in the rear slot of the formation and watch out for enemy AC all on my own too! Next year I'm allowed to move off the P.11 too!!! Fan-tas-tic!!

OK, well after doing some research and help from you guys, i now know how to play online....only thing is i pre-ordered 1946..... waiting for that so i can get the pe2 mod too. So unfortunatly i wont be able to fly with you guys until it arrives..... keep a spot for me reserved until then aye?

What is your guy's teamspeak address? Then i can directly ask all my newbie quuestions.
