Tonights Squad Session - Stalingrad

Post by :FI:Nellip » Sun Sep 17, 2006 12:05 pm

Assuming we are still on for a "winter break" away from the sunny beaches of Guadalcanal then I have 6 missions available tonight for Stalingrad.

Please bear in mind these are my first ever attempts with the FMB and there are a couple of issues at least I am still getting to grips with - the first is defining what the win conditions are for each team and the second is setting the level of "destruction" for ground objects.

I have play tested them all from the ground pounder perspective and they seem to work OK - not sure about the fighters.

The missions start in August with one based around Operation Blau, there is one for the German bombing raids, 3 for the German attack on the city, and then one for the airlift when the Germans were encircled.

I plan to add several more representing Operation Uranus, the Russian counter attack, and Operation Winter Storm which was the attempt to reach the 6th army after they were encircled. These will include some missions against Romanian and Italian aircraft for variety.

Aircraft for tonight are il2's, P39's and LaGG3's. There are between 12 and 16 aircraft per mission so should be enough for the regulars.

Not sure how much time I will have to fly tonight - family commitments - although I should manage to join you for a couple at least. Strangelove has offered to host, and I have PM'd the missions to him - but I can send them to someone else as a back up if required.

Cya later - hopefully.

Constructive feedback on playability very welcome.

Well behaved guests, (definition - anyone who brings the beer), are always welcome to join. We are experimenting with new missions and if there is a big turn out of regular members, there is a chance that a particular mission might run out of planes. Visitors may then, unfortunately, be turned away until the next session.

Green, be sure everything works. Test everything before the co-ops:

- IL2 built up to v4.05
- HyperLobby set
- TeamSpeak up with our IP and password
- headset working
- wife/girl friend sent shoppin' or standing by quietly to serve refreshments.

Ask if you need any help.

Hope to see you there,

Falcon

I expect we can find room for a prospective member - as long as we have a spare slot :D

I will be hosting the missions tonight for Nellip and am really looking forward to some great feedback on these afterwards. This Eastern Front Campaign is going to be excellent.

Start time is usually between 7 and 7.30pm BST (British Summer Time)

You are in Sweden?

If yes then I think between 8 and 8.30pm for you.

Really depends on when we all turn up and when Falcon has finished all the chores he needs to do around the house so his wife will let him have time off for good behaviour
