...of my PC and in a general sense everything is better. No Spyware , running and loading stuff alot faster but theres still a little problem
Things are a bit "jumpy" and "jittery" on screen and when I load il2 even in the menu screen the mouse cursor jumps all over the place....when I load a mission it breaks up like its experienecing lag but this is offline
I was thinking its maybe a problem with my drivers but does anyone have any suggestions?
Cheers
James

Try switching between DX and Open GL
Mine used to do that in Open GL before I got more memory.
I've seen it happen under DX and not Open GL ( not sure why)
on my backup install. Switching to Open GL
Suppose ypu could try the Windows Key to go to desktop and back to IL2
as well

Skipper, everytime I cleanyclean my computer, something stops working/starts working unproperly.
Though last time it was mine own fault, got a bit too excited and killed some .dll file.
But for IL2 thingy, I cant even move my cursor without minimizing the game first. Both online and offline.

Thats pretty standard if you do anything after IL2 starts, even moving the mouse can make it lock.(think that bugs been in from the beginning)
It may be a background service with a similar conflict.

Oh right, I never watch the loading screen, because it takes so long on my machine.

Any of you boys used FS Autostart?. Its a small application (download from Avsim I think) that is easy to set up and when you run it is closes down unecessary apps and processes. It gave me a FPS boost and smoothed out some stuttering when I had a Geforce 5200 + 512 of RAM.
Might be worth a go?.

FS AUTOSTART really helped my old rig. It's a good program.

Napier,
Its a momentary freeze, it clears/catches up in about two or three seconds. Happens, maybe once every two minutes (not very often), only in FB (I think). Using Open GL, 1 gig of ram, XP home. Norton Internet security 2006 (firewall off)

I'm running quite decent machine, and my game still does that also. I would recommend some more RAM. If not that, I would do a clean install again, make sure you dont have any progs running in the background so no resources are taken up except FB. What kind of level of detaili are you running?

Hey guys. Thanks for all your replies...I messed around a bit and got it running smooth but now I fudged the Pe2 install!

I wish they'd just released a disk for that so I don't mess up my install everytime I try to do it.
Anyways , my college starts again in a weeks time for what looks set to be a hard year for everyone after slightly under performance in last summers exams. In short , I reckon I'll take a break from il2 for a few months to just concentrate on my studies.I'll probably post a message on the off topics in a weeks time to explain why I wont be here etc but while I'm here I guess I better thank you guys for all the fun and laughs I've had over the past year and a half or so.It's been great!
See you guys around
