Megapatch

Post by Airhawk14 » Sun Aug 06, 2006 2:40 am

I installed the megapatch and extracted it, but I don't think it is extracted into the game because there is a file called PFm_megapatch and all the files are in it. Does anyone know how to get the files from that folder onto the game?

Well if you extracted it to somewhere other than the game folder, you should just need to copy/paste the newly extrated files (in their folder structure) to the game folder.

As a suggestion, before applying patches, it might be worth making a back up copy of your IL2 game folder. That way, if the patch process does not work as expected, you can delete the game folder and reinstate your back up copy.

I concur with Gurb. Make a backup copy of the entire IL-2 game folder before upgrading.

Its a patch that has been compiled to contain all the files contained in the myriad of individual patches to take the game from version 3.0 to version 4.04.

I.e. from an out of the box FB+AEP+PF to 4.04 which is the last point before the PE-2 expansion pack.

It doesn't contain anything new, it just has all the files in one patch rather than doing about 6 little ones.

I've got a copy here if wanted

Megapatch unzips as an .exe file which you then have to run to install to IL2FB/PF

I didn't know I should have backed up my IL2 folder. What should I do now?

Well, if everything works smoothly, then you do not have to do anything. But, if you have lots of HD memory, then its better to backup everything.

It all works fine but sometimes when I review tracks, it shows something I didn't do and my plane ends up crashing.
