Physics Cards?

Post by MikeVictor » Tue May 30, 2006 4:17 am

So, just what is this physics card thing I'm hearing/reading about? Is it a good idea to have one of these and a video card instead of 2 video cards using SLI?

I did well with physics in school, but what the freak is this.

My understanding of development:-

  • a)
Physics cards will handle all things physics related in games(i.e. movement, impact, gravity, explosions), taking the pressure off cpu and other resources. To be of any use games will have to have support for them.
I don't even know if BoB will include physics card support though.

    or

    b)
They will tell you how fast youre going but not where you are!
