The instability was apparently caused by OC'g the memory a wee bit too much. Once I set that to default levels everything runs as smoothly as sheep poop. I OC'd the graphics cards back up and things are as solid as, uh really hard sheep poop ...

I still haven't fps'd it in IL2. (What's the code fer that, again?), but last Sunday's session was fan-ass-tastic!!!!

Lots of AI, plenty of us, perfect settings, 4AA and all that, 1920X1200 res, and the best word I can best use is ... smooth!!

Other neat stuff:

28-32 seconds to start up windows

28-38 seconds to start up IL2.

Okay, I'll shut up.

Falcon

I think you might need to have a word with Unkky Fen.

He knows a few good sites(allegedly) that might help to clear up the problem.

Falcon

I'm all green!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do these guys ship to the uk?

Salute.
Originality and strangeness are good,
blind conformity and stupidity are unforgivable.

He who asks is a fool for five minutes but he who does not ask remains a fool forever.

The UK?

Sure!

I guess,

as long as you don't ship FedEx ground.

Try UPS Ground ...

they sometimes make it as far as the beach at Prince Edward Island.

Falcon, I think it's FPS SHOW START in the IL2 console. SHIFT+TAB to enter the console. FPS STOP to turn it off. If thats not right type help FPS.

If you use this often to test fps edit your rcu file found in your IL-2 game directory as follows (here's mine as an example of also icon settings):

@set fast off
@set echo on
@set alias on
@set history 20
@alias a alias
@a h history
@a s show
@a on fps START SHOW
@a off fps STOP SHOW

@a default mp_dotrange DEFAULT
@a none mp_dotrange COLOR 0.005 DOT 15 RANGE 0.005 TYPE 0.005 ID 0.005 NAME 0.005
@a fi mp_dotrange FRIENDLY COLOR 0.005 DOT 15 RANGE 0.80 TYPE 4.0 ID 0.005 NAME 2.0
@a ei mp_dotrange FOE COLOR 0.005 DOT 15 RANGE 0.005 TYPE 4.0 ID 0.005 NAME 0.005

---

After opening the in-game console I only have to type on/off.

Nice my Oblivion mate!

I received a new computer at work the other week. She came with a LCD monitor too. Images look great, easy on the eyes, but even after tweaking the fonts are not as good looking as on my flat screen Trinitron at home (CRT). But it is a cheap monitor (government :roll: ).
