Last night I worked out what that highly annoying beebing is on Hyperlobby ... Its a message pager.
So if you have paged me its too late now to reply but I have finally cottoned on to how it works.

If you want to disable some of the sounds, you can.
Go into your hyperlobby folder and navigate to:
skins => common => sounds
In there you will see the .wav files.
Change the names of the ones you don't want to hear.
Eg. I think the aircraft noise on start-up is annoying, so a renamed
'startup.wav' to 'startup.wav.old' so I don't hear it now.
