George Best, one of the premier if not the top soccer player to come out of the British Isles passed away recently:

My sympathy to our Brit and Irish members who had seen him play in the 60's, met him , or heard of him. He was the first really big soccor star known around the world, at least the first I ever heard of when I was quite young.

S! to a man who is best remembered for his talent at football and his time at Manchester United.

One of his quotes I like goes something like this:

"I spent most of me money on booze , gambling and women. The rest I just squandered!" ;)

Saw George in Dublin on the piss. And Ollie Reid. Got oiled with him and Hurricane Higgins. Ollie was gent but an out and out pisshead.

Terrible shame these guys die young for the sake of a thirst.

Raise one for Georgie Best!

Even Pele was in awe of the Belfast Boy.
