OK Ladies, I need some help..

I'm in contact with a gent who flew in the 355th FG in WWII. Right now we're just swapping E-mails.

I hope to pick his brain about the P-51 and whatever else he flew.

I've got several questions realted to issues I have with the game.

You guys use your fertile minds and come up with some more for me to bother him with.

Here is what I have so far..

First, did the recoil of the 50's bounce that plane around?

Second, did the 51 behave better at the altitudes the bombers flew at or
down low? In the game, the 51 suffers badly in a turning fight at low
altitudes. I know it wasn't considered a good idea to get into a turning
fight at any time, but I'm sure it happened.

Third, what speeds did you try to maintain for optimum agility. In the
game the 51 is pig at less than 200mph.

Fourth, could the 51 out turn the 109's at combat speeds? What about the
190's? I know there were several different models of each and they all had
somewhat different abilities as far speeds and turns.

Fifth, When the Luftwaffe attacked the bombers, was it a hit and run fight or did
they stay and fight it out?

What models of the 51's did you fly? Were they significantly different or
just improvements of a good idea?

Personally not all that interested in the Mustang. Be interested in what other planes he flew though.

What kind of training did he receive prior to combat?

What theatres/areas was he active in?

Could he describe what a so-called typical week/day was like for a WW2 combat pilot?

And don't forget about the cow question.

I would have a lot of questions, some dumb ones but…………… one would be the spotting of enemy planes, how easy was it, at great distances what exactly did they look for that would trigger their response to an enemy? (That is one of my biggest problems in this game, can’t imagine what it would be like in real life.) I read that Hartman would practice spotting planes at a distance

What was the best speed to maintain for a combat climb from the ground? Attitude would be nice too (Although Tac is more than willing to give me some anytime. :P).

Identifying enemy airctraft at a distance...Easy one, if ther're not squacking the correct IFF code, launch your missles., or the way i do it...if there traciers flying by my aero space vehicle, i imediately depart the area.
