Joystick question

I think I've figured out my joystick problem. It's not working, for those who might not know. I recently added a Nostromo device for a series of other games. I vaguely remember something about adding a controller to your PC might foul up the order of things in IL2, but I don't remember the fix. Does anyone know how to get IL2/FB/PF to recognize the joystick order without removing the new controller?

Or should I just remove the Nostromo every time I decide to fly?

Ok I think I've gotten it....
