Hyperlobby connection troubles

Post by :FI:Noter » Thu Jun 30, 2005 7:10 am

Well, try as I might, I could not get a connection to join you gents for the Wednesday session. I got errors on my end- can't find pf.exe, errors from hyperlobby after it found forgotten battles. I'm sure there's some user error going on. I'd like some help, but I'm not even sure where to start.

I have the 4.01 patch but have not installed it, that maybe some of my problem right there. I wasn't sure what version you were using.

Where should I try and connect? To Pacific-Fighters or Forgotten Battles?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Noter

We use the latest patch, so that would be 4.01. I always connect to forgotten battles... i dont know if that PF-thingy is only for stand-alone versions (?)

Not much, but i hope this helps ;)

Thanks for the quick reply, I will install the patch and go from there. It may be that simple, lets hope.

Gotta Have 4.01m Installed for HL Sessions

Post by MikeVictor » Thu Jun 30, 2005 1:31 pm

Noter,

you need to install IL2, AEP, & PF via the merged method (if you didn't) and then install the 4.01m patch.

That should fix it. Do you have all 3: IL2, AEP, & PF? If so, you have what you need.

Don't change the default installation location/path, or HL may have trouble finding it.

Good luck, would like to have seen you last evening.

MickVic :)

Yeah, I have all three, actually purchased IL-2 and AEP just to play with you guys online. The patch was pretty new and I wasn't sure if it was being used yet, but it is.

I will work some more on it and see if I can catch any of you on Saturday or Sunday.

Thanks for the help,

Tried again to no avail. I am running Hyperlobby Pro 3.8.92. Type in name and password, click connect.

I get:
please wait connecting
and then I get:
server temporarily unavailable

Is this something I am doing? I installed the patch (4.01m) and hoped that would eliminate any issues.

I have never really done this, so maybe I am just not doing it right. Could someone give me a step-by-step of how they start up, connect, join, etc. Sounds ridiculous I know, but it would be a big help to me.

Thanks,

HL Help

Post by MikeVictor » Fri Jul 01, 2005 8:05 pm

Hmmm, I haven't seen that error message before....

Could it have something to do with the version of HL, anyone know about this??

I think I have a different version??? Not sure.

Will look into your problem a bit more from home later.

Good luck,

Mike

Yeah, I am using a Linksys router and using firewall.

I'll download the latest version of HP tonight and try and see what happens.

Just checked, I have 3.8.95 as well.

Noter, download and install version 3.8.95 and see if that fixes it.

Bingo, 3.8.95, did the trick. I may be speaking too soon , I didn't actually join a session and fly (kids came home). I will try tonight and need to practice with complex engine management on, don't usually have that one checked...ohhhh, I'm all excited, maybe even giddy.

Thanks for your help all,

I did it, actually joined and played a session, so now all I need to do is hook up with you guys, I tried on Sunday, but I think it was just too late. How will I recognize an FI session in progress that I can hook up with?

Yep, I think so. Instead of plane skins I am working on my pilot skin, 'cause I think that's what most will see of me. Gonna have some cool ones though.
