For the longest time I've been waiting for the arrival of Ghost Recon 2, when rumors began about Ghost Recon 3 many fans were afraid we would never see Ghost Recon 2. Unfortunately that's the case.
See, I knew I should have bought an Xbox instead of a PC. Now with the consoles holding the largest part of the market, it's the PC owner who gets screwed over more and more. I'm rather sad, because there hasn't been a game after Ghost Recon that could make me believe I was in fact a soldier, and bullets were in fact quite deadly. I don't want bunnies jumping around, circle strafing me, I want a healthy dosis of realism and Ghost Recon did that for me.Monday 04.11.05 Cancellation of Ghost Recon 2 PC
This decision was not an easy one. We did not want to disappoint the loyal Ghost Recon fans, but we did not want to risk releasing a final product that did not meet their high expectations. With the launch of Ghost Recon 3 planned for Winter 2005, significant human resources were needed to ensure the quality of the future instalment of the series, thus potentially jeopardizing the quality of either Ghost Recon 2 PC or Ghost Recon 3. Taking into account their close release dates, and the fact that we felt the third opus would be a much more satisfying and evolved gaming experience, we were forced to conclude that it was in the interest of gamers for us to cancel the PC version of Ghost Recon 2. But Ghost Recon 3 on PC will hit shelves the fourth quarter of 2005, so the wait won’t be long, and will definitely be worth it.
*sigh*
And funny how they can say that pc owners don't have to wait much longer, but conveniently forget the wait that has been going on ever since the promised Ghost Recon 2. Idiots.
I'm really sad. Maybe I should just buy the CoD fun pack and pretend the enemies are all UBI fanatics and shoot them, shoot them all. Leave none alive!
