One of my first flightsims have you played "Corncob 3D" ;)
This was one of the first flight sims I played growing up It was really wacky but fun. I had completely forgotten the name but finally found a video of it online this week:

Have any of you played Corncob 3D?
The flight model was surprisingly good for its day. You can read more about it here:

Blast from the past!
I remember buying it on floppy disk—vaguely remember it came bundled with another game.
So trippy..... which maybe explains some of the inspiration behind Hunternet, Snoop?!

I think you are right Moog, I've always been attracted to oddities and things that fly:FI:Moog wrote:So trippy..... which maybe explains some of the inspiration behind Hunternet, Snoop?!

Does River raid count?
I think my first flight sim was some clone or pirated version of Gunship on c64, if you consider helicopters as something that flies.

No to River Raid, yes to Helicopters Or maybe that should be backwards to mess with Helo

Well, this was my first contact to "flight sims" on my Amiga 500: Wings Of Fury

That sound effect for the ground troops being shot is properly horrific!

Looks like a cool game, I never played that one but another of my first sims was "Blue Max: Aces of the Great War" here is a video of it::FI:Moog wrote:Hmmm, try this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5EtR79G99Y

It was an awesome 3D sim and it had local split screen vs and a 3D turn based mode ! It was also the first time I picked the name "Snoop Baron" My two younger brothers stood no chance against the Snoop Baron in his tri-plane
Almost forgot it also came with an awesome manual that had a lot of info on the various famous pilots of WWI I read that over and over again

Wow that's really well done, Amiga had some amazing games I wish I had an opportunity to play it back then! I agree with Moog about the troops I really like all the special touches they added like different zoom levels and the animation when switching directions, plus the landing view:FI:Genosse wrote:Well, this was my first contact to "flight sims" on my Amiga 500: Wings Of Fury
