Elite Dangerous
Is anyone flying the Beta of Elite:Dangerous?
I'd like to meet up online if you are.

Re: Elite Dangerous
I have it, but have not had time to try it yet
More of a long term investment
If I get some free time to get to grips with it then would love to team up online - if you have been playing it a while maybe you can help me knock 20+ years of dust of my Elite experience!

Re: Elite Dangerous
Sounds like the blind leading the partially sighted then
I did the first few scenarios last night, not ventured online yet. Do you know if the missiles are working in the beta? I could not get those to work.
Like you say, it is familiar enough to the old versions to bring the memories back. Looking at the system specs, it should be within reach to a wide audience. I guess that graphically it has not got as much to deal with as a flight sim.
If you fancy going online together at some point let me know. Sunday nights are just about dead and buried for IL2 now. Mikes FIBOW campaign has had no takers for Sundays at least, and last week Frank and I spent some time in Battle of Stalingrad (which was good). So if you want to try this on a Sunday my guess is we could do so and not miss anything else

Re: Elite Dangerous
I'll be around this Sunday from around 7:00pm.
I have finished all the scenarios, the missles work you have to select a different weapon/fire secondary weapon.
I've been online and flown to other systems. Docking is easier than the original Elite.
I'd like to fly some IL2 tonight if we can.

OK, managed to spend a couple of evenings on this now and have managed a couple of flights between systems and a couple of trades - just like the earlier versions only slicker.
If you fancy getting on TS with this Eamonn we can try a team game?

Re: Elite Dangerous
Yes, the FTL and supercruise drives seems a bit buggy to me.
I made a bit of a major error last night with this - went to look at weapons upgrades and managed to strip out the lasers but not replace them. I then get attacked by a pirate and spent 5 minutes wondering why I could not get my weapons to deploy before getting blown up
If I help you with the FTL stuff maybe you can help me with the weapons?

Re: Elite Dangerous
OK, Paula is away in Munich Tuesday and Wednesday so if you fancy a night on Elite I can get on for a couple of hours guilt free?
