I Though you guys were tuning into kildare Local Radio http://www.kfmradio.com/
"i will give thee a dog which i got in ireland. He is huge of limb, and for a follower equal to any man,Moreover, he hath a man's wit and will bark at thine enemy's but never at thy friends. He will see by each man's face whether he be ill or well disposed toward thee. He will give down his life foe thee. (The Icelandic Saga of Nial,c . AD 970-1014

Yes you did ... AI Radio chatter off ... 12 AI pilots landing one after an other sound like a bingo afternoon in a female retirement home.:FI:Genosse wrote:

The pilots number shown on the map, which you see by clicking refly e.g., probably reveal tactics
and the oponent can react on where most pilots spawn(ed). So that is the reason why I deactivated it. This means also you need to communicate where you spawned, so your fellows are able to spawn on the correct airfield.
Dont bother too much about the connection test, all tests we had were successful, so I am pretty sure default installations will work as it should. However there is a german server running 24/7 (each day a week) on same CRT & mod settings, which can be used for testing as well.Means if you get a positive test there, you are ready to rock.
This is the IP: 85.114.130.108:21001 (called Kampfverband 13)
I dont mind much about vulching, keep it coming as u like.
I guess Frank would be the only one I would vulch on purpose, as he just shot me once too often
Thx m8, wasnt too bad, me dad got 70,so all relatives invaded Germany again, lotta alc, lotta eat...buizness as usual, so not really holiday but it was fine to get out a few days.Hope you had a nice time on holiday, Nephris! I need one 'o those!
Nevertheless and I cant pronounce it enough, the match Fc Bayern - Barca was just amazing in the stadium and made the 90 mins become more a holiday/holiminutes, than the days before ( hope me dad doesnt read this...)
Skins are installed on server, I will post the Link to the total pack here in a bit.
As it is packed into a selfextracting archive ,just point the installer to your Il2-Sturmovik installation folder. The pack is not very large, around 16mb.
Re: The ongoing JG42 war
Skinpack Download
Download the pack. Extract the exe file to wherever u like to and execute it.
The pack is tied to a simple installer. Just run the file and browse to your Il2-Installation folder.
If you prefer to unzip and copy&paste yourself you are free to download the pack as default zip folder.
Pilots not loading the pack, will see the default Il2-Sturmovik skins of each plane. Skindownload was deactivated to save network resources and prevent lag.
Plz tell me if you notice any probs to the pack.

Re: The ongoing JG42 war
Folks!
That was good fun yesterday although I wasn't able to shoot down our famous host Nephris.
Watching the recording I have to notice that the warping due to lags was still existent. Maybe it was my connection, maybe the fact that lots of joining people were demanding the huge mission file being downloaded first. If this was the case I'd suggest to start the server a bit earlier like 5 to 10 minutes before the session will begin. Waiting while listening to the chaps on comms talking about their current actions is a real pain in the a**e.
Another point I'd like to mention are the missing skins in the recordings. Do I still need to enable the skin download in order to get this skins visible although they are already on my HDD?
And furthermore some of our FI boys don't use the squadron numbers which makes it quite hard for me to find you while switiching through the different aircraft.
Since I know now what kind of aircraft we really use on this summer map I need to do some changes on the skins. I'll send an update to you soon, Nephris.
That's all for now by me ...
Sláinte, folks!

That would be me. Sorry Gen! I downloaded the skinpack too, then forgot about markings altogether. I'll remember next time.
Re: The ongoing JG42 war
The mission file is linked in the stats htm to each single mission in our forum and you should have the same eventlog in youryou site (re stats appears to be down). Can you also send me the mission and the log file ?
root folder of Il2. I wont have access to the files up to the end of the week, as I am not home.
Which one do u mean? The server commander generated site? I didnt bother about it since 6 weeks maybe ,as it provides useless output.
If you got a working solution to track the stats in total, it would be nice to share it.
Yeah, we really sufferd by beeing totally outnumbered at 1:2 at its best. That was good fun yesterday although I wasn't able to shoot down our famous host Nephris.
Have to commandeer some liable and persistent veterans (auch Beutegermanen genannt) for next time.
Am fine for that, but if a pilot joins at 20:30h the file is again transmitted within the mission (while others play). If this was the case I'd suggest to start the server a bit earlier like 5 to 10 minutes before the session will begin.
I already raised the time to 100mins, as it takes around 5 mins to load the mission for some.
The server itself is behind a 10mbit upload connection.

Know how that feels - that was the FI experience until the Java crew joined us!Nephris wrote: Yeah, we really sufferd by beeing totally outnumbered at 1:2 at its best.

Re: The ongoing JG42 war
I have about 95% of the stats working. Just a small issue where if a human player is killed the kill is recorded in the logs as player X was killed but it doesn't tell you who killed them.If you got a working solution to track the stats in total, it would be nice to share it.
Several log lines later it records who did the killing. Just working on correcting that.
Once thats done I'll do a little site and put up the logs
Re: The ongoing JG42 war
Yes, had hoped for more even sides; hope you can fill your ranks this next session, Nephris. You guys held your own pretty well in air losses, though, in spite of being outnumbered - well done.
Is Blue side transferring squads manually, or do you just let DCG do it for you automatically?

Nephris
I'm not sure what u use to host these missions but we have a dedicated server with good bandwidth. It has the il2 dedicated server with HSFX installed. If you are interested we could host a mission and see if the high ping issue goes away. This would allow more players to join, reduce load times that kind of stuff.
up to u.

Re: The ongoing JG42 war
For blue side I let DCG do the transfer job.
The server is a QuadCore @ 3.6 ghz with 8gb behind a 50mbit VDSL connection
and 13mbit upload guaranteed.
So for IL2 it is far enough for 25 pilots and I think that is a fine number to play with.
I dont know what the lag for some causes, maybe the Ai spawning within the mission,
I know of one of ours suffering sometimes by lag,but he cant expect much else of his Prescott.
Dont mind too much of being outnumbered as those numbers waggle from time to time,
and at the end it is very rare for blue being outnumbered.

Oh, Nephris, you may have already noticed, but apparently Zwerg really likes wingtip smoke! In case you haven't seen it yet, most of the mission log files look like this:
Joking aside, though, looks like he needs to take a look at his control setup & change this command or something. Sure would make those log files a LOT smaller!
