20 hours in and running some tests from Ultimate Boot disc.

is it hd or sd?
If sd some of the recent windows updates are incompatible with the sd firemware. There are loads of firmware patches available.
As you have a new rig did you try and mount the driver via usb once booted on the new rig ? you may be able to access the driver and get some data off.
