Not sure if everyone knows but due to an Icelandic Volcanic eruption UK airspace is closed to all traffic until 06:00 Friday. This morning it was Scotland http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/8621444.stm but now all UK airspace is closed. in 1982 a 747 ran into a volcanic dust cloud and all four engines stopped, It is said that the pilot's first words to the co-pilot when they turned into the world's biggest glider was "Quiet, isn't it?" it was until 12,000 ft from 37,000ft that they got them restarted again. Due to the volcanic eruption in Iceland, the air traffic to Great Britain is strongly restricted. Today, the following flights coming from and going to London (STN) are cancelled: AB 8811, AB 8820 and AB 8821.

Thousands of passengers have been left stranded in Dublin airport too, after flights were cancelled due to the volcanic ash cloud from Iceland.

France has Closed its northern airports but Germany is yet to do so, the result many rushing to Frankfurt airport for long haul flights

There saying on the news here that airspace will not be open til 11:00 tomorrow morning , this is subject to change.

in airspace in the Netherlands is also closed. Iceland is sending us ash instead off cash
