Hello Fellas!
Hello Fellas!
Hello guys, my name is Ben Lewis, I live in Lafayette Louisiana. I am currently working a horrible job on offshore oil rigs. Prior to that I spent 8 years in the US Army Infantry. Even though I spent my earlier years pounding dirt, I have always had an obsession with aviation. Some of the most fun that I had in the Army was flying nap of the earth in a blackhawk (riding more like it).
Flight sims have always been a part of the inventory with my computers and I have spent untold hours flying Falcon 4.0 (The old and new one) European Air War, Microsoft Flight Sim (so far back the terrain was all wire frame and no color) and lastly but not at all least, Il2.
As far as my skill as a virtual pilot, I am unparalleled. Being true to my Infantry past, I have spent more time pounding dirt with my aircraft than I care to mention. Rockets, bombs, strafing you ask? Not at all. Mostly with my prop and in a few rare occasions, a wing or elevator. I believe that I am quite possibly the worst pilot on earth and if you think that you are worse, I challenge you to a duel. I am sure that I will plow into the ground like a drunk kamikaze long before you do!
Finally, I was attracted to you guys by your activity and outlook on sims. I hope the training is fun and challenging, the missions tough and the attitude fun!
I'll crash into you guys later!

Welcome Ben
I like you honesty mate with regards to the ground pounding but then again we were all like that at some time or another. As for the flying here in the squad we all like to have a laugh while also taking things seriously to a point but I'm sure you'll enjoy what ever we do.

Re: Hello Fellas!
Hello Ben,
We've got another cajun in the squad, I'm surprised he hasn't shown up yet, he seems to sense when another Louisianan is online.
Unparalleled ya say...well I might not fly into the ground too much, but I'll be damned if I can hit anything with guns, rockets, or bombs. So I'd wager your kamikaze technique is more effective than my spray and pray (and miss) technique.
We fly a session on Friday night, starts around 8pm CST. Lots of the North American faction of the squad flies and a decent showing from our bretheren from across the pond make it too. We are flying the Battle of Britain right now, so not much ground pounding, except our shredded flaming wrecks called a Hurricane. Stop by on teamspeak and see how you like it.
We also fly on Sunday afternoon, but I can never make those, but they sound equally fun.

Welcome Ben. Like Noter says, drop round Friday evening and say hey. You'll need 4.09b1m. TS, and a willingness to enjoy yourself. I know, asking alot. Falcon I'm sure will try and explain, language barrier and all that. Hope you can make it Ben. Look forward to meeting you.

Must have a shitty rig cook. Or none at all. Feckin' shame, I say!I am currently working a horrible job on offshore oil rigs. Prior to that I spent 8 years in the US Army Infantry.
Welcome, Ben!
...and wear your feckin' mask!!!!!
Re: Hello Fellas!
Actually the cooks are pretty good. We are on a Chouest Jack-up right now doing P&A's for Chevron. The company men are pretty cool but the platform was built in the 60's and is falling apart.
