Noticed that as I speak something called "Yahoo[bot]" is listed as online and a registered user.

What gives?

All the main search engines have spiders and bots tootling around the web, logging sites, following links etc,

they are like v'ger from Strar Trek, seeking new worlds and "key phrases" where ever they roam in the world wide web.
