I giess I'm pretty lucky where I like, Duxford 25 minutes one way, Shuttleworth 15 minutes the other way.

Shuttleworth had one of their shows last weekend, quite interesting as they have a lot of early stuff. Whilst some are replicas, many are originals....

Forgotten what it is called... but it is original! (found it... Blackburn monoplane 1910)

The Avro 305? on it's own (a replica ... but originally built to plan for the film "Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines" so getting quite old anyway!)

Some modern stuff now...

..and positively state of the art compared to the others...

Thanks for the pics, Gareth!

I think the first one is a Bleriot. Had a rotary radial...Le Rhone, possibly.

Found it!

Blackburn Monoplane 1910

This one was built in 1912, lost and then rediscovered in a haystack in 1937. It's the oldest airworthy plane of British origin in existance .

Read all about it...
