STILL trying to get online with NO joy. Tried joining the :FI: server via IP address.. TIMEOUT!!

Messed with Router and had it ping the server
Response from 76.88.158.162 received in 124 milliseconds. TTL = 48
User stopped ping.
Pings sent: 14
Pings received: 14
Pings lost: 0 (0% loss)
Shortest ping time (in milliseconds): 124
Longest ping time (in milliseconds): 154
Average ping time (in milliseconds): 132

Ports are forwarded for UDP on VIrtual server, Port Forwarding, and even Trigger ports are set for port 21000 UDP or BOTH TCP and UDP.

The wiff's comp blew up again.. grrrrr. I get to rebuild that punk this weekend and hope it will fly. I have a spare MOBO that I pray will let it light up. :roll:

And to top it off, it has snowed TWICE this week!! Global warming my aching arse. Was out till midnite last night slinging sand on icy roads (and a LOT of cars too ;) ) so the dummies could drive faster and crash harder. :lol:

on M4T forum someone wrote:Hyperlobby indeed looks for the il2.exe file, but when using the DVD IL2 Sturmovik 1946, a exe file is made called il2fb.exe

I renamed it to il2.exe and HL works now!
Though mine works with Il2FB.exe; I guess anythings worth trying.Make a copy of the exe and rename it if you don't already have one. ( I did this for Mat manager)

and again from Airwarfare:-
Ok, ok, sorry. Basically IL-2 uses some TCP (Transmission Control Protocol - this is a connection oriented protocol) and UDP (User Datagram Protocol - this is a connectionless oriented protocol) "known" ports for communications. Internet gurus will may kill me, however I have worked with this industry long enough (for Cisco Systems) to know that the theory does not work in practice 100%, no matter what the book says... and many books are wrong anyway. For IL-2, UDP is only supposed to be used in LAN communications, and TCP is supposed to be used for over the Internet communications, however I have had less problems by opening both TCP and UDP regardless of the type of game, if I am going to play MP. Beware that by opening ports you run the rist of making your PC and network open to malicious hackers, but in reality, this would seldom happen, as far as I understand it. Do not panic because this is not an isue with IL-2. Any game you play online that you host a session runs into this same issue.
So here is the solution:

Before Anything else, make sure you use Port 21000 in the IL-2 setup program. You can check that it is port 21000 by manually opening the file "conf.ini" in the IL-2 directory with a text editor and checking that you have the following lines under the [NET] section:
localPort=21000
remotePort=21000

1.

For Games That you Host and Provide the IP Address to your Friends, open the followng ports in your router/firewall/gateway:
- 21000 outgoing TCP
- 21000 outgoing UDP
- 21000 incoming TCP w/ Transparent Proxy to host PC IP Address
- 21000 incoming UDP w/ Transparent Proxy to host PC IP Address
- This type of connection only requires the IL-2 default port of 21000
- When you are done playing, I recommend closing them.

Dunno' if this will help http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/
AnVir Task Manager gives full information about process, services, TCP/UPD connections, drivers, DLLs. It has descriptions for 70 000+ startup programs and services. It detects new and unknown Trojans using security analysis and alerts on new startups. It can speed up boot time (Delayed Startup), balance CPU usage, optimize memory. Tray icons shows status of disk, network, memory, CPU. Tray menu keeps last launched programs and folders. Also users can hide windows to system tray, set windows ‘always on top’, and change windows transparency.

A blonde was lost in her car in a bad snowstorm. She remembered what her dad had once told her. If you ever get stuck in a snowstorm, wait for a snowplow and follow it.

Pretty soon a snowplow came by and she started to follow it. She followed the plow for about 45 minutes. Finally the driver of the snowplow got out and asked what she was doing.

She explained that her dad had told her that if she ever got stuck in the snow, to follow a plow.

The driver nodded, and said, 'Well I'm through with the Wal-mart lot, now you can follow me over to the K-mart.'
